Super Livy

One day, I was in the kitchen doing a little cleaning when I heard a loud bang from the living room followed by instant crying. I walked in the living room to see Livy sitting in the middle if the floor, crying. I could tell it wasn't anything serious, so I just asked her what happened. This was her response (between sobs)...

"I was just trying to be Super Livy... But... It just didn't work out right..."

Which translates into: She tried to jump off the top of her slide, but fell down instead. Only my child would give an explanation like that. She always makes me laugh!

Working for Panties

This morning, Livy woke up around 5:30 and came into our room crying saying,
"I'm so sorry I tee-teed in my panties. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. It's all my fault!"

I told her to go to the potty while I changed her sheets. But when I went into her room, her sheets were dry! Thankfully she had just barely tee-teed a tad bit in her panties, but nothing major! So I went to console her... I could still hear her crying down the hall. When I walked in the bathroom, Drew was in the tub, and Olivia was on the potty still crying,
"It's all my fault!"

We were both trying to reassure her that it wasn't that bad. She finally calmed down and went back to her bed. About 6:15, when Drew was leaving for work, she hollered,
"Daddy! Where are you going?"

He went in her room to tell her bye then came back in our room to fill me in on their conversation. It went a little something like this...

"Baby, I'm going to work."
(Tears rolling down her face) "But I don't want you to go to work!"
"I have to go to work so I can buy you clothes and so Mommy can stay home with you."
"So you can buy me some new panties?"
"Uhh, yea..."
"Ok, Daddy, go to work and bring me home some new panties."

Haha! Drew asked me if she was really gonna be expecting him to bring home new panties. I told him not to worry about it, but I guess we'll see this evening! She might really be expecting panties!

Gone Huntin'

For a while, every time Drew brought up the subject of going hunting, Livy would shake her finger at him and frantically say,

"No, no, no, Daddy! We do NOT shoot deer! Them are nice!"

Drew and I got a kick out of it every time. She was so adamant about being nice to the deer. Then I guess she heard him talk about it enough, she started coming around to the idea. Let's face it... it's a way of life in the south. So recently she has been talking non-stop about going deer huntin'.

This morning after breakfast, they got dressed in their dark colored clothes (so they can hide from the deer, according to Livy), and they went deer huntin' in the backyard. Livy was so excited... She found lots of deer traps (tracks)!

Pumpkin Carving

I'm sorry these posts have been so jumbled and out of order, but as soon as I post something, I remember something else I left out. So they're just all over the place. Oh well!

Before Halloween, Livy and her daddy carved a pumpkin and I captured it all on camera. *Warning: there are a lot of pictures!

 Livy's photography...

 More of Livy's photography...

And this too... she captures it all!

This and That

Last week, I got my hair chopped off... and I love it! My hair had gotten pretty long and I wasn't unhappy with it, I just needed a change. And maybe something a little easier to fix when I have two kiddos! A mommy-do, if you will.

We've been loving some Monopoly lately. Livy always starts out playing with us but eventually moves on to something else, so that's when the game gets serious. Sort of. Drew has this ability to win at every single thing he does. It's really not fair, but he's lucky I'm not that competitive, so it all works out. He always wins Monopoly because he always gets Boardwalk and Park Place. Lucky dog.

Last weekend, Pappy and Annie were taking the girls down to Shreveport to Gators and Friends to see all the animals. So Drew and I decided to go do some Christmas shopping while Livy was away. I had a blast spending the day with him. When we were dating, we used to go shopping together all the time! But we haven't done that in a long time, so it was nice. Between having a new shopping partner and never having much money to spend, we don't get to actually do too much shopping.

Drew had a few Visa gift cards that he had gotten through work that we've been saving to use for Christmas presents only. But somehow our Christmas shopping trip turned into a nursery shopping trip. I think we got Livy 3 Christmas presents, and spent the rest on the nursery decorations... and deer corn. Oh well! It was still a very fun day with my very hott husband!

Update on the Baby's Room

I've slowly been working on the baby's room. It took me a while to get started. I had my eye on that fabric in Hobby Lobby for a long time, so I bought it a while back. At the time I was super excited about it and couldn't wait to get started on it. Then I let it sit there, and I started to doubt myself. Was this really what I wanted my baby's room to look like? But it was too late, I had already spent the money on that fabric, so there was no turning back.

I eventually drug my sewing machine out and started working on it. I did the bumper first. *Disclaimer: Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing. So it's definitely not perfect, but as long as you don't look too closely, it'll work. I made the crib skirt next, and finally some pillows. I gotta say, I just guessed how much fabric I was going to need when I bought it, and it turned out to be just what I needed!

I made some pillow cases for some old Pier1 pillows that I don't use anymore.

The initials (CEB) will go in the frame above the crib. When I bought them, Hobby Lobby didn't have a B in the store, so I'm waiting for it to be delivered... any day now!

I've still got quite a bit to do, but I absolutely love the way it's turning out. I'm so glad I didn't change my mind! I will admit though, it's looking a little more on the boyish side to me, but I figured it'll be a lot easier to "girl it up" if we need to, than the other way around. Oh, I can't wait to meet who we're bringing home!

MHS Homecoming & 10 Year Reunion

October 18th was Homecoming at MHS, and the next night was Drew's 10 year reunion. Really? 10 years? That's a little hard to believe!

We went to the game with Livy, and Drew got to catch up with some old friends he hasn't seen in a long time. The Panthers lost, of course, but it was still a fun game.

Livy took this picture of us... she's getting to be quite the photographer!

Livy spent the majority of the time with Taegan and Trevor, who were sitting right behind us. Guess Mom and Dad just aren't that cool anymore.

Reunion time! I love this man.

Drew and the guys

Even the babies had fun with the photo booth!

The Flower Girl

In the end of October, Livy and I drove up to Little Rock for a day of shopping with Aunt Lori. We met Elizabeth at David's Bridal so we could order Olivia's flower girl dress for Elizabeth's wedding. She's going to make the most beautiful little flower girl. I can't wait to see her coming down the aisle. We're so honored that Elizabeth asked Livy to be a part of her big day!

This is just the dress they put on her to get the right size... she loved twirling around in front of the mirrors!

This is THE dress (just a few sizes too big). She doesn't get the concept of what a flower girl does quite yet, but she sure loves the idea of looking like a princess. The wedding is going to be gorgeous!

Livy, and the beautiful bride, Elizabeth!

We spent the rest of the day shopping and hanging out with Aunt Lori.

Dentist

Back on October 16th, Livy Lou had her very first big girl dentist appointment.

She wasn't nervous at all, until we got into the room. She was a little apprehensive, but cooperated until Mrs. Ann pulled out the big pointy pick thing and wanted to count her teeth. I gotta say, I don't really blame her... that thing does look a little scary! She cried a little, but Mrs. Ann had the great suggestion that I use it to count her teeth so she'll know it doesn't hurt. And voila! Mom had the magic touch! It became fun after she realized it wasn't scary.

Her favorite part of the whole experience was when Mrs. Ann squirted water in her mouth. She thought that was hilarious!

I even got a thumbs up!

They sent her home with lots of goodies, and she has played dentist several times around the house. She always says,

"Yooks yike you forgot to brush your teeth... you need a check-up!"
